PUNAKAIKI PANCAKE ROCKS, NEW ZEALAND
For those who like natural beauty, I recommend visit Punakaiki Pancake Rocks in New Zealand. It is most famous in New Zealand because it is internationally recognised as one of the New Zealand's visitor icons. It is located near the centre of the "Coast Road", which is one of the most spectacular coastal drives in the world.
The Pancake Rocks are a heavily eroded limestone area where the sea bursts through several vertical blowholes during high tides. Together with the 'pancake'- laying of the limestone (created by immense pressure on alternating hard and soft layers of marine creatures and plant sediments). Thus, these
form are the main attraction of the area.
The Pancake Rocks are presently explorable by a number of walkways winding through the rock formation. These parts of these wheelchair- accessible and others carved into stairways up and down the rock faces. The State Highway 6 is the only through road on the West Coast, passes through the town.
