WHAKAREWAREWA, NEW ZEALAND

The Whakarewarewa in New Zealand is one of the place you should visit when you at that counrty. Since the early 1800's, they have been hosting and welcoming visitors into their homes and backyards. Demonstrating the utilisation of the natural geothermal wanders for cooking and bathing and sharing their geothermal existence continues to fascinate tourist visiting Whakarewarewa today. The famous Te Whakarewarewa spring is Pohutu which is "Big Splash" or "Explosion".It is a geyser which erupts up to 20 times a day, spurting hot water up to 30 meter skyward.
Set amidst a landscape of erupting geothermal activity, hot thermal springs and bubbling hot pools is the living thermal villae of Whakarewarewa, situated in the heart of the tourist diamond of Rotorua. The people of Tuhourang/ Ngati Wahiao have been the trail blazers of the tourism industry in New Zealand.
